THE
APPRAISAL
INSTITUTE OF
CANADA, founded
in 1938, is the national professional institute of real estate
appraisers,dedicated to high and uniform standards for members
of the appraisal profession. You can recognize a qualified
member of the Institute by the designation AACI
or CRA.
1 - AACI
(Accredited Appraiser Canadian Institute)
designates fully accredited membership in the Institute and
may be used by the holder in connection with the appraisal
of a wide variety of real property.
2 - CRA
(Canadian Residential Appraiser) designates
individuals qualified in the appraisal and valuation of individual
undeveloped residential dwelling sites and dwellings containing
not more than four self contained family housing units.
More
than 6,500 members provide reasoned valuations widely respected
by the courts, real estate corporations, mortgage lending
institutions, all levels of government and private individuals.
Members must complete a rigorous course of studies in all
aspects of real estate valuation before they are granted the
use of either of the above designations. Ongoing educational
programs, information exchange, regular seminars and meetings
ensure high professional standards.
